SPRING SUNSET AT GRUINARD BAY
One of my all-time favourite landscape images, captured during an early trip to the West Coast of Scotland. While it looks like this was winter, this was actually taken in April. In the Highlands, they call this "lambing snow" - a sudden cold snap that blankets not only the peaks but often the whole landscape just as spring should be arriving and the lambing season begins. I love how the pink flash in the sky complements the sunlit rocks in the foreground, with the rugged Wester Ross mountains standing guard behind.
